Wrestling camp in Tbilisi
Train where chidaoba became Olympic wrestling.
Next session: Aug 4 – Aug 10, 2026
What this camp is and who it suits
This is the camp to pick if grappling is the whole point of the trip. It suits wrestlers who want more live rounds in two weeks than a season at home gives them, MMA fighters and jiu-jitsu players who need a takedown that works on someone expecting it, and beginners who have never worn a singlet — the beginner track starts with stance, motion and falling safely. Adult camps take ages 16 and up, and the coaches split the room by level after the first session.
Why train this in Georgia
Georgia has won more Olympic medals in wrestling than in any other sport, and chidaoba is on the UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage list.
Chidaoba, the jacket-wrestling tradition behind that medal record, is still where many local athletes start, and it shows in how they wrestle: upper-body control and grip fighting of a kind you will not find in a room full of leg-attack specialists. The week is two sessions a day, six days a week — drilling and positional work in the morning, live rounds and conditioning in the afternoon, Sunday off.
